Buck's American Commitment:
For many loyal Buck customers, the Made in the USA stamp on our blades is just as important as the Buck logo beside it. As a fourth generation American company, we understand that. At a time when many are protesting the growing trend to move manufacturing offshore,we continueto fulfil our "American Commitment" by moving several of our knifes, previously imported, back to our factory in Post Falls, Idahowhere the majority of our knifes are still made. In fact, 95% of our new knifes are proudly being made in the USA.

Buck steel - it delivers a superior blade:
Steel is the heart and soul of a knife. And yet it's what we do with our steel that makes our knifes more reliable. There are three basic criteria by which you can measure the quality of a blade:

  • Blade retention - how long the blade will last. Buck blades, by test, stay sharp longer.
  • Ductility ; strength - how much force your blade can withstand. Achieving the ideal Rockwell hardness provides the perfect combination of these two features.
  • Corrosion resistance - protecting it from the elements. Selecting the ideal steels for the task and processing them properly will provide years of reliable use.

The quality steels we use:

  • S30V - Supreme combination of blade retention, ductility, hardness, toughness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. For optimal performance, we harden to a standard Rc 59-61.
  • 12C27 MOD Sandvik - Supreme corrosion resistance with great ductility and strength for wear resistance and durability. For best performance, we harden to a standard Rc 58-60.
  • 13C26 Sandvik - Great blade retention and hardness for wear resistance and strength. For best performance, we harden to a standard Rc 58-60.
  • 420HC - Our standard steel, with great blade retention and corrosion resistance. The industry standard is easily resharpened. For best performance, we harden to standard Rc 58.

5Quality

My first Buck purchase, although I have nothing to compare it to, it appears to me to be a high quality item, although it hasn't been used for anything, I do like it and am looking at purchasing the guthook version although the triple sharpening stone is vastly overpriced compared to USA, £80 to us, $50 to them, can't justify buying it, even though I want it.

Buck-store has in house, state-of-the-art laser engraving machinery, operated by skilled and experienced staff to ensure that your product is engraved with a perfect, striking and everlasting finish.

We are so confident that you will be delighted with the quality of the engraving that if for any reason you are not completely satisfied we still offer our no quibble returns service.
